We’ve decided to start adding our travels into our blogs… The healthy way to visit them, of course!
I visit Los Angeles often and the fitness options are endless! I wanted to share some of my favourite fitness studios… This will be more based around West Hollywood area.
1.) BARRYS BOOTCAMP – www.barrysbootcamp.com
I tried this class and it is LIT! There’s two parts to the class- one is on the treadmill and the other is weight training. The workout itself is designed for efficiency! The treadmill intervals and strength training combinations are proven to lean and tone your body. I can say I haven’t been that committed to a treadmill in awhile… Something about the dim lights and loud music motivates you to push through. Such a solid workout- I was dripping in sweat. Not to mention… The smoothie bar attached to it had some amazing post workout smoothies. YUM!
2.) SOULCYCLE – www.soul-cycle.com
If you guys follow us, you know we LOVE a good spin! SoulCycle is a great sweat with good music and dim lights as well… I think we have a thing for dim lights… I mean who wants bright lights when you’re giving it your all. Are we right? Some SoulCycle instructors are magical and some rides can be amazing for you mind & body. This is how they put it: SoulCycle is a 45-minute indoor cycling class that features high-intensity cardio, muscle-sculpting strength training, and rhythm-based choreography. But it’s so much more than just a workout — it’s a powerful mind-body experience.
3. RISE NATION – www.rise-nation.com
Rise Nation is perfect if you are on a tight schedule- it’s 30 minutes! LA’s premier cardio climbing studio. It’s a high intensity workout meaning 30 minutes is just enough- You will be sweating and getting a hard workout in! Climbing is zero-impact and self-regulating, which is good for your body avoiding injuries and you can go in at any level. It activates and targets ALL the major muscle groups so you are getting a very effective calorie burn!!
4. RUNYON CANYON / GRIFFITH PARK
Now here is a place- not a class you can go for FREE! These hikes are awesome for any level! There are many parts to the trails- going from casual hike to more intense. We like to run up them and do some planks/push ups on the benches. There are SO many exercises you can do on the trail. It’s amazing to get outside, get your workout in and maybe catch a tan?! Also, some celeb sighting can happen as well.
