This post inspired me today, because we’re heading off on a few trips soon!
Also… Summer is a common time where a lot of people jet away and enjoy some time off! Let’s take some time off work, but not your health ok?! Yes, you can treat yourself here and there- but don’t completely fall off track. There are so many easy ways to stay healthy while traveling! Let’s get to it.
To name a few…
Pack workout gear & runners! – It doesn’t matter if you’re going camping in the middle of nowhere, you can always get a workout in without a gym or gym equipment.
Pack Bands! – If you only bring one form of exercise equipment we highly recommend bands! They take up no space to pack and can work so many different muscles. (Check out our Instagram for some Band workouts- @LifeOfBlondette)
Pack Powdered Greens & Healthy snacks! – This is a great way to get your greens in and we usually will start our day with a healthy bar or greens shake… Then time to get your workout in, and you are ready for the day! Sometimes I will get this all done before my travel buddies even wake up. However, my travel buddies usually join in on the workouts now. Get your squad on the same page as you! (That should be a separate tip all together…) Nowadays it feels so many more people are open to living healthy lifestyles, try to inspire those you surround yourself with to do the same! ANYWAYS enough of the ramble!! Next.
Drinking & Eating – We don’t recommend totally limiting yourself or you’ll go crazy and won’t enjoy! Be aware and make smart choices here and there. For example, when it comes to drinks we will choose one yummy cocktail first, then move onto a tequila, water, lime. Keep your drinks clear and add lots of lime! For eating, try to make healthier decisions here and there but when you treat yourself don’t eat it all! Small portions is key. As for desserts, try to resort to fruit/natural sugars however, again if you have to indulge, don’t eat the whole thing!
Go Hiking/Running/Bike Riding! – Finding local hikes or going for a run is a great way to get some cardio in and site see at the same time. We also will look up local fitness centres/spin studios to see if any are worth trying. Biking outdoors is the best way to see more, be outside and get mild cardio in. Super fun too!
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!!! – Travelling we can easily forget to keep up on our water intake. Drink your H2O yo!
Hope these helped!! Let us know your healthy tips while travelling/on vacay!
